Samanmali
My name is Samanmali and I am an Intuitive Bodyworker.
I look at the body holistically, as a reflection of a person’s journey in life and present state of mind. I work with the Myofascia, the body’s connective tissue which covers our entire muscular system, literally holding our bodies together, viewing it as our energetic map: the one place where we physically store memories, emotions, trauma (regardless of how big or small). Any restriction in the myofascia can result in bad posture, pain, stiffness and inflexibility of the body. With my bodywork modality, my ultimate goal is full body, mind, spirit alignment, over the course of several treatments. In the same way one’s mental state influences the body, one’s physical state also influences the mind: it’s a constant feedback loop which works both ways. I utilise tissue manipulation while also leveraging on the client’s active breathing. This is why bodywork is different from massage. Full body relaxation is only achieved with the client’s participation.
My massage training started in Goa, India where I obtained a Certificate in AyurBalance Bodywork & Massage - a modality combining myofascial release with Ayurvedic principles (so taking into account the various body constitutions and their idiosyncrasies). I then deepened my education in Sydney, Australia obtaining a Certificate in The Medicine Wheel Bodywork, after an extensive training at the renowned ‘The Medicine Wheel’ clinic in Bondi. My professional career at Kaizen in Paddington, a clinic completely dedicated to the betterment of its clients’ mental health and physical wellbeing. I was truely inspired by the climate of unwavering dedication to their purpose and infused this commitment into my own work.
After 6 years in Sydney, I moved to Western Australia in January 2021, to experience a different part of the beautiful land of Australia, and I have been calling Margaret River home since. After a few very formative years in my own private clinic - where I was able to hone in my practice and really shape my modality into the unique offering I provide today - in January 2024 I moved into MEND Margaret River, where I am able to continue to use my skills and passion for bodywork in service of others.
